Bangladesh Bank is providing cash assistance for the export of 38 products in favor of organizations located in specialized areas (Beja, Bepza and Hi-Tech Park). This facility was introduced to encourage the export trade of type-A (100% foreign-owned) and type-B (domestic-foreign joint-owned) companies located in the Bangladesh Economic Zone.
A notification has been issued by the Foreign Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank on Monday (September 18). Until the new directive of Bangladesh Bank, the certificate was issued by the respective authorized dealer bank. The directive also said that other conditions related to previous export assistance will remain unchanged.
However, from now on, Bangladesh Terry Towel and Linen Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BTTLMEA) related to garment and textile industry will need a certificate of attestation to get export cash incentive benefits against shipping of products produced in these factories.
The concerned exporter association approved by the Ministry of Commerce will verify the export subsidy application of the individual freelancers. In the absence of the exporter association, the information and communication technology department of the government will verify the export subsidy application of the individual freelancer.
