In the recently concluded week (September 17 to 21), the main capital market of the country, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), ended the trading with rising price index.
The total market capitalization of DSE and other capital markets Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) increased by more than Tk 9,860,700,000 in the outgoing week. During the week under review, transactions in rupee terms on DSE increased by 39.81 percent. This information is known from DSE and CSE sources.

It is reported that the market capitalization in DSE before the start of trading on the first working day of the week on Sunday (September 17) was 7 lakh 75 thousand 933 crore 29 lakh 76 thousand taka. Which stood at Tk 7 lakh 79 thousand 101 crore 65 lakh 64 thousand at the end of the transaction on Thursday (September 21), the last working day of the week. That is, the market capital increased by 3 thousand 168 crores 35 lakh 87 thousand taka in the span of a week.
4 thousand 4 crore 81 lakh shares were traded in DSE during the week under discussion. In the previous week, transactions in DSE amounted to Tk 2,864,400,000. In other words, the transaction in DSE increased by 1 thousand 140 crore 41 lakh rupees or 39.81 percent during the week.
On the DSE, the main price index DSEX rose by 7.71 points or 12.0 percent to 6,309 points.
The DS30 of the top 30 companies by market capitalization increased by 11.53 points compared to the previous week and stands at 2,146 points. During the week, the DSE Shariah index rose by 4.03 points or 30 percent.
A total of 403 shares of companies were traded on DSE during the week under discussion. Among them, 92 rates increased, 73 decreased and 216 remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the country’s other capital market CSE main index CASPI increased by 0.20 points to 18 thousand 664.19 points. Among other indices, CSCX increased by 0.19 points, CSE-30 index by 0.13 points, CSE-50 index by 0.27 points and CSI by 0.12 points to stand at 11 thousand 158.53 points, 13 thousand 378.57 points respectively. 308.24 points and one thousand 171.09 points.
78 crore 61 lakh 23 thousand 472 rupees were traded in CSE during the week. Which is 18 crore 86 lakh 20 thousand 136 taka more than the previous week. 59 crore 75 lakh 03 thousand 336 rupees were traded in the previous week.
267 companies participated in trading on CSE during the week. Among them, the price of 71 or 26.59 percent increased, the price decreased of 55 or 20.60 percent and the share price of 141 or 52.81 percent of the companies remained unchanged.
The market capitalization on CSE was Tk 7 lakh 73 thousand 253 crore 92 lakh before the start of trading on the first working day of the week on Sunday. Which stood at 7 lakh 66 thousand 561 crore 57 lakh taka at the end of the last working day of the week. That is, the market capital has increased by 6 thousand 692 crores 35 lakhs in a week.
